What is the refrigerant for industrial energy-saving air conditioning

2024-10-19

There are various types of refrigerants used in industrial energy-saving air conditioners, depending on the design, purpose, and environmental requirements of the air conditioner. Here are some common industrial energy-saving air conditioning refrigerants and their characteristics:

R22 (difluorochloromethane):

This is an early and widely used refrigerant that is still used in some industrial refrigeration equipment today.

R22 refrigerant has good refrigeration performance, but due to its potential impact on the environment, it is gradually being replaced by more environmentally friendly refrigerants.

According to the Montreal Protocol, R22 belongs to the category of HCFCs (semi environmentally friendly) refrigerants and will be completely phased out by 2030.

R410A is a new environmentally friendly refrigerant composed of two azeotropic mixtures, with stable and efficient performance.

Its working pressure is about 1.6 times that of R22 refrigerant, with higher application efficiency and no damage to the atmospheric ozone layer.

R410A is mainly used to replace R22 and is widely used in household air conditioning, small commercial air conditioning, household central air conditioning, etc.

R32:

R32 refrigerant is difluoromethane, colorless and odorless, and is a new environmentally friendly refrigerant that replaces R22 and R410A.

Although it does not have a destructive effect on the ozone layer, it has a high potential to contribute to global warming.

R32 refrigerant can currently be used as a long-term substitute, but special attention needs to be paid to its flammability in certain applications.

R134A (Tetrafluoroethane):

R134A is a refrigerant substitute for R12, characterized by low toxicity and non flammability in air.

It is commonly used in automotive air conditioning, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, and as a foaming agent in the production of hard plastic insulation materials.

R290 (propane):

R290 is a natural hydrocarbon refrigerant, the third generation product of refrigerants, obtained directly from petroleum cracking products.

It is mainly used in various air conditioners and small refrigeration equipment, and is also one of the options to replace R22 and R410A refrigerants.

Other refrigerants:

In addition to the common refrigerants mentioned above, there are also some other refrigerants such as R407C, R417A, R404A, etc., which also have good refrigeration effects and environmental performance, but the specific use needs to be selected according to the design and requirements of the air conditioning system.

In summary, there are various refrigerants used in industrial energy-saving air conditioners, ranging from early R22 to more environmentally friendly R410A, R32, and R134A, each with its unique characteristics and applicable scenarios. When choosing a refrigerant, it is necessary to comprehensively consider factors such as refrigeration efficiency, environmental requirements, cost, and the design and requirements of the air conditioning system.
